Creating a Strategical Goal

Strategical Goal Creation

Do you want to be the hostage of circumstances and only to react onto the events happening in your life? Probably, no. When you have a strategy, many troubles can be avoided or prevented. Creating that strategy takes time and efforts, that’s not an easy process. It can take several weeks even. But when it’s done, you’ll get a guide for your life, based on your personal interests.  See opinion on the topic.

A strategy (according to the “gaming theory”) means the full plan of actions on any situations possible to appear. You have a goal, or several goals, and the general plan of your actions. If one of its points does not work, you know how to replace it. If something else stops working further in time, you know what to do, too.

Strategy is when you know what you want to get in far future, and this means you can sacrifice your instant wishes and activities. You can give up your pawn to save your king. Someone looking from aside might not understand that and judge you, but you know you thought over that all.

Will Your Life Change in a Year or Later?

Probably, it will. New friends, new knowledges, new habits. Different expectations, possibilities, various ideas.

But, probably, you won’t be able to estimate scales of that change within a year. Some processes are going right now (since the last year) and you’ll know their results in a couple months. There are some ongoing processes you most likely can’t control.

But there are ways to notice that. Use contrast method: what were you busy with during last few days? How did you feel yourself? Try reminding yourself about a person you were a week and a month ago. If it seems to be difficult, we recommend you to start providing your diary. You can track stable tendencies like that.

Your Strategical Goal

Your strategical goal is a certain document, where you precisely describe things you are going to do in your life during the next year. That is a system that guarantees you to know what to do, how to do that and when. Strategical goal has to be short, placed on one copybook page. Keep it before your eyes on purpose, read it several times per week. This will let you concentrate on the overall picture.

While staying concentrated, you can be able to learn from your mistakes and to correct your course when you pull off the wanted direction and start doing things that are useless for your strategical goal.

That goal is to consist of three elements:

  • Goals;
  • Principles;
  • Experience.

Your Principles and Experience

Principles (or maxims) are fundamental rules you base your actions on. The human that does not have principles is weak and soft, he or she does not know where to go in this life. Such persons always look on people who have principles and try to behave like them. Principles are what creates your spirit.

Think, what are your principles? What principles should you use, but never did that?

For instance:

  • Contrast principle: if everyone does something, you do the opposite in order to play and win on contrasts;
  • Newton’s third law: for every action there exists an equal counter-action (keep up to the compensation principle);
  • Consequence of higher orders: every action has a wave-effect. Make sure it is positive;
  • Never confuse causes with effects;
  • Thankfulness principle: one of fundamental ways to be happy;
  • Focus is more important than multitasking.

Experience can mean various things: methods, techniques, learning tricks… and experience itself.

What is the best wat to overcome this obstacle? Think about that every time you meet the problem. It is not clever to use same methods for everything.

What are your habits when it comes to the job? For instance:

  • Double checking;
  • Punctuality and keeping up to deadlines;
  • Gradual completion of tasks, step by step;
  • Mental training;
  • Visualization;
  • Doing any task with enthusiasm;
  • No alcohol;
  • Morning meditations.

Principles are not goals. Those are rules you reach your goals with.

Experience is not a goal. It is your behavior, actions and thoughts you need to practice regularly in order to reach goals.

Your Goals

Goals and Strategies

The process of setting up goals should be:

  • Adjusted to your level of understanding (relevance);
  • Balanced with your level of motivation (difficulty);
  • Repeatable: you need to remind yourself about goals you have.

Plus to this, goals are to be measurable and lead to activity, not to frustration.

Set Learning as Your Priority

You can make this rule your principle. You need (if not to say “have to”) learn new things every day. A day without new knowledge is a wasted one. A businessman Andrew Carnegie told, that a person has to devote 1/3 part of their life for education. What part of your life had been devoted to that?

Edison said, that if a human does not have a habit of thinking before reaching 30, it will be almost impossible for them to do that later.

Think in Long-Term Periods

You understand the difference between two people:

  • One, predicting his or her future for a week in advance
  • And one, predicting his or her future for 10 years in advance.

Live today, but think about your far future, too. If you invest into your mind, it will bring you dividends not in a year, but in 10 years.

If you learn to think over long-term periods, you will understand the importance of providing investments for your brain. And you will understand, that this instrument is able to lead you to a huge success.
